About the Company

Alphabet Inc. is an American multinational conglomerate that offers performance and brand advertising services. The company was created through the reconstruction of Google and by narrowing its scope on October 2nd, 2015. It is headquartered in California, United States. Alphabet Inc. stocks trade on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange through two classes of shares, one of which is GOOG. GOOG shares give its stockholders ownership of the company, but they do not confer voting rights to its shareholders. In 2020, GOOG stock prices stood as one of the eight highest stock prices in history. GOOG stocks are also a component on several stock market indices, namely NASDAQ-100, S&P 100 and S&P 500. Alphabet Inc. consists of Google, its largest subsidiary, as well as other business entities. These subsidiaries include Calico, Verify, Nest, Makani, GV, CapitalG, Fiber, X Development, DeepMind, Google Fiber, Loon, Jigsaw, Wing, Sidewalk Labs, and Waymo. Many of Google’s former divisions and companies are now part of Alphabet Inc., and Google remains the umbrella company for all of Alphabet’s internet-related business operations. Over the years, GOOG has acquired over 200 companies and expanded its operations across the globe. In a key acquisition, Google bought-off Android OS for an estimated amount of $500 million in 2005, which operates over 85% of the world’s smartphone devices as of 2020. In 2006, it acquired YouTube, a video-streaming platform, for a purchase price of $1.6 billion in 2006. Alphabet Inc. purchased Motorola Mobility, a manufacturing company for mobile devices, in its largest acquisition in 2015. This transaction was valued at $12.5 billion. In 2019, Forbes included Alphabet Inc. in its lists of America’s Largest Public Companies and World’s Most Innovative Companies. GOOG was also one of the Top 100 Digital Companies and Top Regarded Companies in 2019. As of 2020, Alphabet Inc. ranked 13th on Forbes’ list of Global 2000 companies and 5th on its list of Just Companies 2021. It also ranked 11th on the list of Fortune 500 companies.;
